About Me My journey as a lomi lomi therapist began in 2014 and in October 2016 I completed my Level 4 (masters) training on the Big Island in Hawaii.
I regularly attend workshops to refine and further develop my skills, including completion of an Advanced lomi lomi workshop in 2019. To commemorate 10 years as a lomi lomi therapist and to 'refresh' & deep dive further in lomi lomi knowledge and Hawaiian healing philosophies, I will be returning to Hawaii in August 2024. I have been trained by Dawn Charlton in traditional old style Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, which was passed to her in lineage form by Kahu (Master) Sherman Dudoit. For further information, history and understanding about Dawn’s lineage of this ancient massage please visit http://www.learnlomilomi.com.au/our-history Because I work intuitively, a massage may be slow and very relaxing or at times it may be a little faster with firm pressure and therefore more invigorating and enlivening. No two massages are the same. Sometimes you may experience an emotional release as the massage can release and shift negative emotions, negative beliefs and other "stuff" that has been stored in the cells of the body, with the healing effects of the massage continuing long after the massage is over. I currently offer treatments from my home-based clinic in Mt Gravatt East (Brisbane southside) and together with Ruth from Soulrevive and Marnie from Lomi Lomi Massage with Marnie, I also offer 'four hands'/duo and couples massage from House of Trinity in Graceville, Available by appointment only, please view the Contact page for contact details and online booking link. We currently have a waitlist for 2024 four hands/duo and couples massage bookings - please message or call me to add you to the waitlist and be the first to be notified once 2024 dates are firmed up. I acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which I practice lomi lomi and pay my respects to all elders past, present and emerging. I am accredited and insured as a full member of the International Institute of Complementary Therapists. |
Traditional old style Hawaiian Lomi Lomi
|
Traditional old style Hawaiian Lomi Lomi is more than just a massage - it's an experience!
This modality has roots in an ancient Hawaiian tradition to treat the mind, body and soul. Old Style Lomi Lomi is a restorative Hawaiian massage that works gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes and is best known for its relaxation effects. If you have only experienced remedial/western style massages, you’ll soon find this is quite different and more nurturing than other modalities. Through its rhythm and patterns, Lomi Lomi activates meridians and energy points, releases energy blocks and creates a safe space to experience a time of oneness and unconditional love. By releasing these energy blocks, your body's own healing processes can take over. This allows you to deeply relax due to the hypnotic, rhythmic effect; bringing your mind to a place of absolute stillness. I use organic coconut oil - your skin will love you for its nourishing benefits. |
